A Theatre Tour of the Former German Arms and Ammunition Factories
It is the 1930s: Nazi propaganda shapes people’s thinking, rearmament leads to a boom at DWM, and workers are urgently needed. The audience members are guided through the grounds as prospective employees and assessed for their work capacity and political views. And as is sometimes the case, unexpected encounters—not all of which conform to the propaganda—occur during this tour.
During the performances of “Again(st) Weapons,” the ensemble shares stories and anecdotes through a playful, humorous blend of site-specific theater and a guided walk. The voices of past and present figures associated with the site, as well as poets and philosophers, are given a platform. History intertwines with fiction, and contemporary themes with local and world history. A theatre experience of a very special kind!
The play “Again(st) Weapons” is premiering at the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.
