Accompanying program for the exhibition “Inventing Queer Cinema”

As part of the exhibition “Inventing Queer Cinema,” the tour takes a look at the history of queer German cinema: at resistance and revolution, solidarity and innovation.

The exhibition not only showcases important films but, above all, tells the stories of the experiences of many different people who work in film and cinema:

  • What kind of cinema do they dream of, or have they dreamed of?
  • What parallels emerge across the decades?
  • Why did some projects fail, and what led to their success? How has queer cinema accompanied and commented on the history of emancipation?
  • When has it actively shaped this history, and in what ways has it even influenced the so-called mainstream?

An event as part of Pride Month, in collaboration with the Center for Culture and Visual Communication of the Deaf in Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. (ZfK).

  • Interpretation in spoken and German Sign Language (DGS)
