A musical based on the children's book of the same name by Leena Krohn, translated by Elina Kritzokat, for children ages 8–12

Emil seems to be the only one who notices that Mr. Mietling is something special. The man in the unusual clothes is actually a pelican who wants to live like a human because his homeland is falling victim to environmental pollution—and because he loves to sing so much!

His mother isn’t interested in Emil’s discovery; she’s a single parent and often tired from work. A wonderful friendship develops between him and the bird in human form, and together they discover the world—until the adults realize that something isn’t quite right with Mr. Mietling.
