Madalena-Berlin is part of the international Ma-g-dalena network of the “Teatro de las Oprimidas,” which includes feminist theater groups from Latin America, Africa, and Europe.

In 2017, Madalena-Berlin organized the first International Madalena Festival in Berlin and served as a co-producer for various international meetings, seminars, and projects. The group promotes public debate on the forms of oppression caused by patriarchy—viewed from an intersectional perspective—and drives the search for concrete alternatives to the identified injustices. With a repertoire of six theater productions, the group has pioneered the innovative practice of feminist legislative theater.
Madalena-Berlin is the first theater group founded by KURINGA in Berlin and is also celebrating its 15th anniversary.
