Based on true stories of people struggling to find housing, the performance depicts situations that expose the structural injustices of Berlin’s real estate market.

TO GET TOGETHER begins with a nonverbal choreography that depicts a slow, gradual process of fear-mongering, the suppression of dissenting voices, and the acceptance of isolation as a means of self-protection.

Blue, a young dreamer with a compassionate spirit, is interested in how these mechanisms work and recognizes that they are powerful strategies of political dominance. Blue tries to warn the people around him, but his arguments do not seem to convince them. However, when Blue’s home and those of some of his friends are threatened by real estate speculation, this conceptual abstraction takes on the concrete form of an existential necessity. From this realization, a powerful resistance movement emerges that seems invincible. Unfortunately, every new obstacle erected by the speculators reveals weaknesses in the movement. Blue recognizes the need to restore internal dialogue and reassess the effectiveness of the tactics being used. To Blue’s despair, it becomes clear that the group of activists is influenced by the strategies of their oppressors.

Would it be possible to create spaces where people affected by rising rents and displacement can translate their experiences into political action?
