The event is supported by the district office’s economic development department and organized in collaboration with the clubs SpOrt365 and Friedenauer TSC.
The goal is to raise the profile of basketball in the district and get people excited about the sport.
Basketball is receiving additional attention this year thanks to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, which will take place in late summer. The event builds on this momentum and highlights the importance of basketball as an inclusive, diverse, and intergenerational sport for the local community.
The series kicks off on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with a multi-age training session hosted by Friedenauer TSC from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Following that, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., a FLINTA Open Court invites participants to play basketball together in an open format, exchange ideas, and get to know the sport.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the program begins with an Open Court session from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This will be immediately followed by the mini-tournaments, which will be the highlight of the day from 1:00 PM to around 4:00 PM.
Registration is open online until July 5, 2026: WE OWN THE GAME – Schöneberg City Hall. Spots are allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
A special activity also offers the chance to experience basketball from the perspective of wheelchair basketball players. Special sports wheelchairs will be available for this purpose. The program is rounded out by a wheel of fortune with attractive prizes.
