Berlin-Gatow Airfield
Built in 1934–35, the Berlin-Gatow Airfield was part of Berlin’s military infrastructure. After 1945, it was also used for civilian purposes. Today, the entire complex is a unique historic site that has housed the Military History Museum since 1995.
The “Luftwaffenmoderne” architecture and the expansive outdoor grounds create an impressive site covering approximately 722,000 square meters.
On the theme day, guided tours of the former Gatow Airfield await you. During the tours, you’ll learn more about its history, development, and current use.
Exclusively on the theme day, you can take a look inside a special hangar. This hangar has never before been open to the public.
The theme day is part of the Berlin Industrial Culture Festival.
