About the special exhibition “Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism”
In 2026, the Alte Nationalgalerie will honor Paul Cassirer (1871–1926), one of the most important art dealers of his time.
Through an exceptionally prolific and consistent exhibition program, the Berlin-based gallery owner Paul Cassirer played a key role in promoting French Impressionism in Germany.
Cassirer did not, however, limit his commitment solely to promoting French art. He was equally dedicated to German Impressionism and supported the Berlin Secession. During a guided tour of the exhibition with the curators, you can ask questions and learn more about the development of this exhibition.
