Annick Durán Kandzior / Master's Thesis: Play and Object

Oscar the First, Oscar the Second, Oscar the Third—an entire generation of Oscars breathes quietly beneath the earth. They are in a state of zero consciousness. They await their birth to fulfill their purpose in this life. They wait to be held, cared for, and loved before their export.

South American Techno-Imagination

Somewhere in South America, hybrid creatures are emerging that can generate and transmit heat. While Europe endures an endless winter due to the climate and energy crisis, the VIVERO project is dedicated to the breeding and export of these (O)rganisms.

VIVERO is a participatory theater performance in which the audience enters a biotechnological greenhouse as temporary workers. Situated between South American science fiction, the climate crisis, and affect, VIVERO explores what happens when warmth becomes the world’s most valuable resource.
