We are here to leave our mark. Dedicated collectives, local and international participants, and artists are weaving their stories into the Hoffest—together, we are forging alliances for artistic presence and participation, creating a space for community at Haus Schwarzenberg.

To this end, the Hoffest sets its course for diversity: Strong networks emerge through an exhibition, participatory workshops, a solidarity kitchen, a performance space, and, not least, the vibrant energy of the house community, which immerses the live acts in adventurous tones of love, chaos, and artistic freedom that defy social norms.

The TRACE exhibition at Neurotitan, featuring photographs by artists from Washington, D.C./Maryland, explores the dialogue between people and the places where they live or from which they flee, as well as the environments that preserve the imprints of existence.

Various DIY workshops for all age groups will take place in the exhibition during the courtyard festival. Younger creatives can also look forward to an animation workshop at Kino Central, featuring a world premiere on the big screen.

From the start, the Eschschloraque Rümschrümp will be open in the courtyard with a coffee shop and summer bar, and of course the SNIPER Art Kiosk will be there too.

Food will be provided by various dedicated, open initiatives that bring people together: Vétomat, Homeless Veggie Dinner, Radio Bandito.

In the courtyards, RavingMadCarlos will cause a sensation with his mix of tech beats, keyboards, samples, vocals, and performance, while other soundscapes spread across the building: The underground workshop-studio Many Tentacles presents live abstract sounds with Ambient Marmelade before the live acts take over the 3rd courtyard: Adventure, love, and chaos define Red Money, along with a resilience that finds expression somewhere between minimalist post-punk and abrasive garage rock. Oum Shatt blends minimal rock, post-punk, psychedelic textures, and Middle Eastern timbres into a unique sound—hypnotic, mystical, yet wild and danceable.

Layered lyrics revolve around themes such as love, the housing market, politics, artistic freedom, and power structures, as well as the rejection of societal expectations. Alpha Zen Taurï showcases live clarinet through amplification and effects. Melodic lines emerge from shifting allusions—Klezmer, Western Classical, Hindustani, Free Jazz—and merge with bass-heavy sounds, repetitions, and vocal fragments. Through building, layering, and shifting, a space for dynamics emerges under the motto “Breath meets Pulse.”

This is where art meets reality: In a reality teetering on the brink, one that faces wars and oppression, patriarchal social orders, reactionary and far-right structures, as well as neoliberal, right-wing conservative policies, it is the traces that Hoffest lays toward a different world: from Washington D.C./Maryland to Neurotitan, through Berlin’s off-scene, into the courtyards of Haus Schwarzenberg. While the U.S. president maintains a government that stands for violent oppression and inhumane policies—which FIFA, incidentally, honors with a peace prize—we’ll kick off the ball on July 4 for the independence of art—for strong alliances, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence in inclusive societies of diverse lived realities! Because art can create hope and utopia—and that leaves a lasting impact.
