Special tour marking the 125th anniversary of Elisabeth Schiemann, who conducted groundbreaking work in plant genetics, resisted the Nazis, and helped Jewish people escape persecution.
Elisabeth Schiemann devoted several decades of her research career to the popular garden strawberry plant of the genus Fragaria. Her focus was not on breeding improvements—she was primarily interested in fundamental biological questions regarding the inheritance of traits and the origin of species.
