Fête de la Musique at the Centre Français de Berlin

Despite ongoing renovations, the CFB is organizing the Fête de la Musique for the 17th consecutive year, this year in the parking lot beneath the Eiffel Tower—thanks to the support of the Franco-German Youth Office and the State of Berlin.

This year’s Fête is themed “Sounds of Europe” to celebrate European diversity. And for good reason: a musical exchange between France, Germany, and Bosnia will be performed live in front of an audience for the first time!

There are also plenty of other new highlights in store for you:

• Fun games for kids with the local youth club “Aktionsraum”

• Reopening of the UmsetzBar (formerly the “Rote Beete” community garden) with long drinks

• “Maison Orangina” stand with tastings and surprises

And, of course, a diverse music program:

• 3:00 PM – “Chor der Statistik,” a Berlin women’s collective of 25 singers, formed at the “Allesandersplatz” artists’ house under the direction of Bernadette Hengst

• 4:00 PM – Mélodie en Mouvement, a performance by young musicians from Paris, Berlin, and Bosnia – sounds of today’s Europe

• 5:30 PM – “Les Calcatoggios,” a Berlin ska band with an energetic mix of rock, punk, reggae, and soul

• 7:00 PM – OUTED: quirky and colorful pop music from Strasbourg

• 8:30 PM – “Drückerkolonne,” a Berlin band with wild polka and a punk attitude – two singers (DE/FR) who transform worries into liberating poetry, accompanied by double bass, mandolin, accordion, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, and horn

• 10:00 PM – DJ Just elva in the cinema foyer

Of course, there will also be plenty of drink stands (including Orangina!) and “Chez Gustave” will take care of your culinary needs: crêpes/galettes, ice cream, merguez, and popcorn 🍴
