The three contemporary dance performances this evening, featuring dancers and choreographers from Japan, Italy, Spain, and the USA, explore this very idea through their profound movements and invite the audience—in the truest sense of the word—to be part of the experience. Ma is also the name of a Berlin-based dance collective founded by Ayano Tatekawa, Ain Tominaga, and Rakuho Murabayashi, dedicated to exploring interstitial spaces through dance and collaboration. By bringing together artists from diverse cultural and stylistic backgrounds, the collective creates a space where differences are not erased but held, negotiated, and transformed into new forms of connection.
