Guided tour for school groups

During a tour of the Archenhold Observatory, students are immersed in the fascinating world of astronomy and gain an overview of key topics, vividly illustrated through selected exhibits.

Special emphasis is placed on comparing two impressive telescope technologies: the world’s longest telescope and a reflecting telescope—representatives of the modern class of telescopes.

In the exhibition space dedicated to the solar system, research becomes tangible, for example through a fragment of the Arizona meteorite, which illustrates the significance of such small bodies for understanding the universe.

The tour concludes under the planetarium dome, where the current night sky is brought to life and the tour is brought to an atmospheric close.
