In contrast to opulent European floristry, in Ikebana we value the empty space between objects just as much as the visible water in the vessels. Participants use garden waste, giving it new meaning through upcycling. These materials, often overlooked along the wayside, become treasures that they observe and use with mindfulness.
The four-hour workshop consists of a theoretical introduction, the selection and individual gathering of plants, branches, stones, etc., and the creation of an Ikebana arrangement that participants can take home.
