Well-known and new musical numbers—including “Today Is a Celebration Among the Frogs by the Lake,” “Dancing and Jumping,” and the “Well Water Waltz”—accompany the action. Surprising effects and the exciting combination of live acting, storytelling, and puppet animation create a theatrical experience that delights children and adults alike.
Both “main characters”—the frog and the princess—were created by Marita Bachmaier, who previously crafted the magnificent puppets for a production at the Theater im Globus that has since become a cult classic: "The Race Between the Hare and the Hedgehog."
Incidentally, the Theater im Globus recently toured Chile with "The Race." A total of 16 performances took place in Santiago de Chile, Valparaíso, San Felipe, Osorno, Puerto Montt, Valdivia, Villarrica, Temuco, and Concepción. Thousands of visitors of all ages enjoyed the production by author, set designer, and director Jost Braun, who also served as artistic director for the new "Frog Prince."
Stage adaptation, set design, music, and direction: Jost Braun (Master of Fine Arts / graduate of the HGB Leipzig)
Puppets: Marita Bachmaier (Frog Prince, Princess), Jost Braun (2 Sisters, King)
Acting, puppetry: Hanne Braun (Certified educator and graduate of the HfS Ernst Busch Berlin / Department of Puppetry)
