Filmreihe #2030
Few things on our planet are as precious and vital as seeds. Revered and treasured since the dawn of mankind, the seeds of our cultivated plants are the source of almost all life. They nourish and heal us and provide raw materials for our everyday lives. But this most precious of resources is under threat: more than 90 per cent of all seed varieties have already disappeared. Biotech corporations like Syngenta and Bayer/Monsanto have long controlled the global seed market with genetically modified plants.
Therefore, more and more passionate farmers, scientists, lawyers and indigenous seed owners are fighting like David against Goliath for the future of variety diversity. In their documentary "Our Seeds", Taggart Siegel and Jon Betz follow these passionate seed guardians who want to protect our 12,000-year-old food heritage. Unbeknownst to them, they become true heroes for all of humanity as they reconnect us to the original richness of our culture, which cannot exist without seed diversity.
With six impressive documentaries on the topics of biodiversity, species conservation, sustainable agriculture and mobility, we cordially invite you to the open-air summer cinema on Steinplatz.
After the films, you will have the opportunity to talk directly with committed actors. The Culinary Kiosk will introduce itself and offer drinks, snacks and information on sustainable nutrition and consumption. A cinema experience in August for young and old.
The event is free of charge, limited number of participants. Remaining tickets at the box office. The current hygiene measures apply. Due to the pandemic, registration is necessary in advance. Admission to the event is only possible upon presentation of the free ticket.
