„Frühlingsmarathon“

On April 4, in the evening at the China Cultural Center Berlin, you can experience the film "Spring Marathon", which deals with the upswing in rural China.

The plot is based on a true incident that happened in the course of the establishment of village governing bodies in Ninghai County of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. "Spring Marathon" is a neo-realistic film on the theme of village.
It depicts events from a picturesque mountain village in eastern Zhejiang during the preparation for an international mountain marathon.

In an innovative way, the film unfolds the tradition of rural Chinese film comedies and Shanghai-style films. It focuses on the building style, culture and ecology in the new villages and in the new era of China. He portrays the achievements of grassroots administration in rural China and the efforts of Chinese farmers to realize their dreams. During the preliminary stages of filming, director Xia Xiaoyun and key staff members of the film project visited dozens of villages and communities in Ninghai County.


The film shows the beautiful scenery and real life of villagers in Ninghai County, as well as local customs and intangible cultural heritage, for example, the "Ten Miles Red" wedding custom, traditional lacquer craft, and the local opera form Ninghai-Pingdiao.

With this film, the Chinese Cultural Center Berlin would like to achieve a better understanding of the new developments of the Chinese village and the passion of the Chinese people for building a beautiful homeland.
