Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player and arranger. His works revolutionized traditional tango into a new style, nuevo tango, which incorporates elements of jazz and classical music. He was a virtuoso bandoneonist who regularly performed his own compositions with various ensembles.
The Aluna Quintet is a special international friendship that can be seen, felt and, above all, heard. The members come from Venezuela, Colombia, Germany and Ukraine. After coming together two years ago, the group gave several concerts in Germany.
In the summer of 2022, the quintet was invited to an international festival CiMa in Colombia to present their work. Their interpretations of Astor Piazzolla's music are passionate and unique, without being a mere reproduction of the original. They captivate audiences with sweet nostalgia and their concerts are an up-close, intimate and heartfelt experience.
