From July 23 to August 8, 2027, Young Euro Classic will open its doors for the 27th time as part of Berlin’s Kultursommer. At the Konzerthaus Berlin, this international youth orchestra festival demonstrates that the future of classical music has long since become the present.

Young musicians from Europe, America, and Asia bring what makes them who they are—their sounds, their stories, their curiosity. At this festival featuring the world’s best youth orchestras, they demonstrate that music creates connections while preserving uniqueness.

Young Euro Classic at a Glance

Young Euro Classic is the world’s leading festival for youth symphony orchestras and brings the best up-and-coming talent from around the globe to Berlin every year. At the royal Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt, young musicians perform classics from the European orchestral tradition, compositions from their home countries, and contemporary masterpieces from around the world.

Young orchestras from Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia perform together at this intercultural festival of classical music, creating a multifaceted program through musical dialogue. This international collaboration—often embodied by multinational orchestras such as the European Union Youth Orchestra—is characterized by unity and cultural openness. Once a year, it enriches Berlin’s musical landscape with outstanding concerts. The highlights of the music festival are broadcast by the TV channel ARTE.

• Through its youth program, Next Generation, the festival fosters the musical talent and interest of very young musicians aged 6 to 16.

The History of Young Euro Classic

Young Euro Classic was founded in 2000 by the German Friends of European Youth Orchestras (Deutscher Freundeskreis europäischer Jugendorchester e.V.) to offer young musicians an international stage. Since then, it has evolved into one of the most important platforms for youth symphony orchestras, celebrating not only European musical traditions but also promoting cultural exchange. With more than 178 orchestras from 59 countries, the festival has made a significant contribution to the musical and cultural landscape of Europe and Berlin since its inception.

Our Tips for Your Visit to Young Euro Classic

• The Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt is designed to be accessible: Visitors with mobility impairments can reach the coat check foyer via two elevators in the carriage entrance. The inductive loop system allows hearing aid users to receive audio signals wirelessly through their hearing aids.

• The Konzerthaus is easily accessible by public transportation. The nearest subway station is Stadtmitte (U2/U6). Alternatively, you can take bus line 147.

• Since many Young Euro Classics concerts sell out quickly, we recommend booking your tickets online well in advance.
