Berlin atonal and unsound present The Infinite Now at Kraftwerk Berlin, a large-scale collective experiment that transcends traditional musical programme categories.

Conceived as a continuous, 30-hour project, it unfolds as a continuous environment in which sound, presence, silence, conversation and attention can coexist without interruption.

Rather than a sequence of events, The Infinite Now forms a coherent temporal structure in which audience and artists share the same evolving space.

The project brings together two of the most influential curatorial forces in experimental music in their first official collaboration.
Over more than two decades, Unsound has built an international network that embeds experimental music in significant institutional contexts from Krakow to New York to Adelaide.
Berlin Atonal, founded in 1982 and relaunched in 2013, has always focused on the intersection of sound art, performance and contemporary composition at the margins of genres.

Overnight, during the day and again overnight, more than 20 artists will perform live interventions and long-lasting forms of presence specially tailored to the context of the event.

The venue is Kraftwerk Berlin, the former heating plant that has been home to Berlin Atonal since 2013. The interior serves both as a performance space and a social space, allowing participants to alternate between focused listening, peripheral perception and periods of rest at their own pace.

The Infinite Now continues a tradition of expanded works that challenge the fragmented temporality of conventional festival programmes. It draws on historical models, including La Monte Young's Dream House installations and the overnight concerts of the Fluxus movement. It also revives the logic of the popular The Long Now, which served as a unique event on the international music calendar from 2015 to 2019 and was curated by Berlin Atonal as the finale of the Berliner Festspiele-Maerzmusik festival.
