Set in a near-future dystopia characterized by hypercapitalism, automation, and the concentration of power, NO FIXED ADDRESS (NFA) envisions a world where human life is geared toward maintaining systems that no longer serve its purpose. Community is merely infrastructure. Work is coercion. Presence is tolerated only as long as it performs.
Five performers inhabit a rigid, surveilled order, hyper-visible yet unseen. The work does not reproduce images of homelessness or war; rather, it abstracts their psychological repercussions.
At its core, NFA explores what happens when recognition is systematically withdrawn. When indifference becomes structural. The piece investigates the erosion of relationships and the dissolution of the oncological anchor, the slow destabilization of the self that can arise from persistent social exclusion. Being repeatedly rendered invisible is not neutral. It shatters perception. It alters the fundamental conditions of existence.
Rooted in personal experiences of housing insecurity and developed through research-based collaboration with marginalized communities in Berlin, the project understands exclusion as embodied knowledge.
NFA functions as a warning: If people continue to prioritize isolation over solidarity, efficiency over care, and technological development over collective responsibility, what ways of living are still possible?
The theater space becomes an immersive sensory field. Temperature changes, spatial sound, dense bass frequencies, and sculptural interventions shift perception.
In close collaboration with sound and multimedia artist Daria Redkina, an electronic sound architecture is created that surrounds the audience, physically present, destabilizing, and inescapable. Sculptural installations by Natalia Michailidou—reconstructed, cut up, re-welded, and reshaped shopping carts—function as survival structures and fragile domestic illusions within a controlled environment.
NFA eliminates the distance between observer and system. Indifference can disintegrate a person just as attentiveness can reshape the space between us. This future is possible. Are we already experiencing it?
