Word meets original voice
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Liebermann Villa on Lake Wannsee, the voice of Max Liebermann returns to the place where he once painted, lived, and gazed upon the lake.

At this special reading, you will be immersed in an original audio recording in which Liebermann, a humorous Berliner with a folksy accent, recounts his youth. It is one of very few complete audio documents of the artist, and its content is unique, unlike the highly official speeches Liebermann delivered as President of the Prussian Academy of Arts, even though these too deal with art and, indeed, the subject of reflection is an artist: Max Liebermann himself.
