A Play Day for Everyone
Playing, fantasizing, laughing, crying, romping, being loud – all in the heart of an exhibition building! The Gropius Bau is celebrating the reopening of its play space, BAUBAU, with a one-day pop-up adventure playground in the Gropius Bau's atrium.
After a short break, BAUBAU will reopen its doors to you on March 14, 2026. On this day, in addition to the BAUBAU spaces on the ground floor, the adjacent atrium will be transformed into a pop-up playground by Suzanna Law (Pop-Up Adventure Play).
Accompanied by playworkers – trained staff members specializing in free play – children can give free rein to their imagination and creativity. Loose materials such as cardboard boxes, fabrics, tubes, and paper are available to discover and recombine in countless ways.
Pop-Up Adventure Play was founded in 2010 with the intention of developing a holistic, cost-effective, and community-based approach to promoting free play for children. Pop-Up Adventure Play collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to enhance children's play opportunities throughout their lives.
