in a new chamber music arrangement by Heribert Breuer – World premiere
On Palm Sunday, the Berlin Bach Academy, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, will perform a special concert: Johannes Brahms's A German Requiem will be performed in a new chamber music version by Heribert Breuer – as a world premiere. A work of comforting depth and poignant beauty, here in a version that brings out the intimacy and transparency of this music even more clearly.
With Annette Dasch (soprano) and Philipp Jekal (bass), two outstanding soloists grace the stage, their voices impressively unfolding the lyrical magic and emotional power of the Requiem. They are accompanied by the Choir and Orchestra of the Berlin Bach Academy, who, under the direction of Heribert Breuer, bring this special version to life – finely nuanced, focused, and deeply moving.
An evening that touches the soul and allows you to experience the Requiem anew as a work of consolation, hope, and humanity.
