A tragic travel experience
Thomas Mann's famous 1930 novella was immediately read as a political parable about the rise of fascism in Europe. The story raises questions about the manipulability of individuals within a group and demonstrates how easily people can be seduced. A good reason for this theater to include this reading in its program.
