A tour of the special exhibition with the exhibition organizers. This time with curator Florian Wüst and artist Pınar Öğrenci.

Berlin-based artist Pınar Öğrenci works with the media of film and installation, mostly based on archive material. She deals with social and political issues and adopts a decolonial and feminist perspective.

The focus of her artistic practice is the examination of migration, displacement, state violence and strategies of resistance. In "Gurbet is a home now" (2020), she reflects on West Berlin's urban renewal in the 1980s from the perspective of Turkish guest workers.

About the exhibition

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of German reunification, the exhibition "Heute noch, morgen schon" is a large film exhibition dedicated to the social upheavals in Berlin around 1990. The focus is on documentary and artistic works that open up perspectives beyond the conventional narrative of the time. The monthly guided tours offer insights into the content and film-aesthetic approaches of the exhibition. After a short talk by curator Florian Wüst and a commentary by the artist or filmmaker present, there will be an opportunity for discussion.
