An archaeological highlight: the discovery of numerous bronze statues in San Casciano dei Bagni in southern Tuscany caused quite a stir in 2022.
The figures were lying in the mud of a thermal water basin, the centre of an Etruscan-Roman sanctuary for healing deities that had been active for many centuries. The bronze artefacts are being exhibited in Berlin for the first time outside Italy.
The finds show: Themes such as illness, healing and hope were of great importance to people thousands of years ago. Find out more about the finds and the fascinating history of the bronzes from San Casciano on this tour in English.
