A satirical explosion of verses and music with Peter Zimmermann
Heine proclaims his love for Germany to the world almost eruptively, with biting sarcasm and a deeply felt longing for justice and democracy. But he doesn't let himself be harnessed to any cart, nor does he allow himself to be co-opted by anyone. He maintains a critical attitude toward everything and everyone.
Heine remains Heine: passionate, extravagant, still relevant, vain, angry, arrogant, lonely, sick, and full of physical and mental pain – brilliant.
The music is by the renowned French theater and ballet composer René Aubry.
