A Childhood in Song
Songs we learned as children are often lodged deeply in our memory—as soon as we hear them, we recall special moments and people we care about. For anyone who has been forced to leave their home or country, these emotions run even deeper.
In creating her new program, Syrian singer and oud player Waed Bouhassoun has invited the members of her ensemble Orpheus XXI, who hail from different countries and cultures, to share the music of their childhood with each other and with the audience to jointly relive precious memories.
