Zebrano-Theater
Chanson meets poetry slam
Chanson meets poetry slam: sometimes it's high culture and sometimes it's cheeky, low-brow culture at Zebrano-Theater.
The Zebrano-Theater is an intimate and charming neighbourhood theatre in Friedrichshain, just a two-minute walk from the S-Bahn station Ostkreuz. In its small, cosy room with red velvet armchairs and a piano, it offers a sophisticated and varied stage for artists, cabaret artists and comedians with a Berlin and local flavour.
Programmes for adults
The Zebrano stands for a rich mixture of cabaret, literature, music and chanson. Regular highlights include the Genius and Madness Club, a legendary series organised by singer-songwriter Sebastian Krämer on the first Sunday evening of every month. The Tuesday Prophets reading stage, also run by Sebastian Krämer, is held one Tuesday a month in the Zebrano Theatre.
Programmes for children
Sunday afternoons traditionally belong to the younger generation, as the Zebrano Theatre offers a high-quality children's programme. This programme includes puppet theatre, children's theatre, music, artistry and juggling. The plays are performed by the well-known Berlin "Kaspertheater Wunderhorn" and the "Silflay" ensemble, among others, on selected Sundays during the season.
How to get there and admission
The price for an admission ticket is 4.50 euros for both children and adults. Thanks to the excellent location directly at Ostkreuz (S-Bahn, bus, tram), we recommend travelling by public transport, as there are only a few parking spaces available in the neighbourhood.
To the bar for a drink
The Zebrano Theatre is part of the bar of the same name on the corner of Sonntagstrasse and Lenbachstrasse. With its deep leather furniture, the bar invites you to enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere before or after the performance. In addition to drinks, small snacks such as quiche or soup are also on offer to round off a visit to the theatre.
