The story

Named after the Prussian Queen Sophie Luise in the early 19th century, the street is very close to Hackescher Markt. Thanks to the largely preserved 18th century buildings with craftsmen's workshops and small businesses, Sophienstraße enchants with the typical old town charm of the Spandau suburb. The entrances to the Hackesche Höfe, the artistically designed Sophie-Gips-Höfe and the courtyard of the Sophienkirche also invite you to take a detour into secluded corners of Berlin's old town.
