A small but charming Advent market and Open Farm Day in Alt-Marzahn.
Not far from the post mill, the small but charming Advent market takes place every year on the village green in Alt-Marzahn. For over 20 years, a market has been held here in the courtyard of the Evangelical Parish of Berlin Marzahn to get people in the mood for the festive season . At around 25 stalls, various farms, shops, residents, clubs and organisations offer a range of gift ideas and Christmas crafts for sale, such as tree decorations, Advent calendars and much more.
Sweet and savoury delicacies
Culinary delights include sweet and savoury treats such as chocolate-covered apples, waffles, food cooked on a charcoal barbecue, home-baked cakes and bread and lard sandwiches. You can warm up by the fire pit run by the youth fire brigade with mulled wine, punch and coffee.
A varied programme for children
For the little ones visiting the Christmas market, there’s a varied programme of hands-on activities: together you can sing Advent carols, watch shadow plays and puppet shows, do crafts at the Protestant nursery and have your face painted, or go for a ride on ponies and donkeys outside.
Open doors
What makes it special: alongside the Advent market on the village green, various venues such as Wuhletal gGmbH, the Trödelscheune, the KulturGut, the ‘Schamottchen’ pottery barn, the woodworking workshop and the bookshop will open their doors on this day, inviting you to enjoy a varied programme and plenty of culinary delights.

Alt-Marzahn is situated in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district in the east of Berlin. The Christmas market takes place in the listed village centre, not far from the post mill. We recommend travelling by public transport.
