Funicular on the Kienberg

Funicular and viewing platform: a visit to the Kienberg is always worthwhile!

Please note: The natural bobsleigh run is currently out of operation.

The cable car over the Wuhle River valley is once again operating now that the IGA International Garden Show is over. It connects the Kienberg U-Bahn station to the summit and the visitor centre at Gardens of the World.

Fun on the Kienberg

Once on top of the Kienberg, you can visit the Wolkenhain viewing platform. From here, you can enjoy outstanding views over the city and beyond.

Another highlight is the natural bobsled track where you can ride at speeds of up to 40 km/hr. (25 mph) down 500 metres (1650 ft.) into the valley. Once there, your bob will do two 360° turns at eight metres off the ground. But don't forget to enjoy the views as you wait your turn. Afterwards, you can relax and lean back as the cable car takes you back up.

Unfortunately, the nature bobsleigh run is currently out of operation.

Free exhibition in the valley station

At the Gardens of the World valley station on Blumberger Damm, you can now visit the "Climbing Gardens of the World" exhibition. This free exhibition presents interesting climbing gardens and their designers.

Our tip:

All cable car stations are located outside the Gardens of the World, so you can take a ride without entering the park.
