Forest - Winterlights by Dark Matter
Christmas market in Berlin from 7 November 2025 to 15 February 2026
Dark Matter invites you to a particularly sparkling highlight during the Christmas season. Over 600 floating Christmas trees transform the imposing transformer hall in Lichtenberg into a poetic winter forest, under which you can glide along on an ice rink.
Just like the expansive light and sound installations in the halls of a former factory site, which are open all year round, Forest - Winterlights combines space, sound and light to create a unique experience. Let yourself be whisked away on a sensual winter walk that unfolds in 45-minute, recurring cycles.
The Christmas light installation by Christopher Bauder is musically accompanied by a composition by Dutch musician Chris Kuijten, with danceable rhythms alternating with quieter, meditative sounds. Glide through the sounding, glowing forest on ice skates or enjoy this artistic winter fairy tale away from the ice rink with mulled wine, hot chocolate and Christmas delicacies.
An extraordinary Christmas market for all those who are looking for something special - and want to experience glamour, light and Christmas romance with typical Berlin flair.
