His songs explore identity and life between cultures – at times melancholic, at others full of lightness and joie de vivre. Born in Cape Verde and having made Norway his home for many years, Ary Morais sings in Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese and Norwegian. His music ranges from morna to coladeira and mazurka, creating a distinctive sound that uniquely blends tradition and modernity.
