100 Years of GEDOK
Fifteen female artists, selected by a jury, have created new works especially for the exhibition: through painting, photography, video, installation, performance and sculpture, they look back on the association’s history, reflect on their position as female artists in a society that remains patriarchal in structure, and find new ways to enhance the visibility of female artists.
This major anniversary will be celebrated at two venues: in an interactive exhibition, the Kommunale Galerie presents the results arising from several months of artistic exploration, whilst the Galerie GEDOK contextualises the association’s history alongside the creative and developmental processes behind the contemporary works.
