Klezmer and Greek rembetiko in the library!
With this concert, Wedding Klezmer transports the audience to two distant worlds: Klezmer, the music of Eastern European Jews, originated in Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova 150 years ago and subsequently made its way back to Europe via North America.

This music has undergone many transformations. Its emotional depth and exuberance have been captivating audiences for many years. Rembetiko emerged in the 1920s and 1930s in what is now Turkey in Asia Minor (then part of Greece) and tells of love, poverty and pain. The stories are moving, and at times unsettling.
Wedding Klezmer has been playing music from Eastern Europe and the Balkans for 25 years. In this concert, you will hear and see: Stefan Aab (accordion), Jannis Lilge (trumpet, bouzouki, vocals), Uwe Sauerwein (guitar, vocals) and Thomas Gruner-Szur (clarinet, bass clarinet, double bass).
