The oskar | galerie team at oskar | freiwilligenagentur lichtenberg cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition “Water, Waves, Wind, and More” by Lichtenberg-based artist Ulrike Drobniewski.

The opening will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the oskar | freiwilligenagentur (Weitlingstraße 89, 10317 Berlin).

Born in Görlitz, artist Ulrike Drobniewski discovered her passion for painting during a vacation on Rügen in 2009. Since then, she has devoted herself with great joy to nature and landscape painting.

Her work centers on water, the sea, and coastal landscapes—symbols of tranquility, movement, and the close connection between humans and nature. In particular, the many shades of blue and light in the sea characterize her paintings and lend them a special atmosphere.

For the artist, however, it is not merely about depicting the beauty of the landscape. Her works also aim to draw attention to humanity’s responsibility toward nature. A respectful approach to the environment, water, and natural resources is a recurring theme in her artistic practice.

By experimenting with various materials such as watercolors and acrylics, sand, plaster, textured pastes, and especially Rügen chalk, she creates works with vibrant surfaces and natural depth. The use of Rügen chalk further connects the paintings to the landscape and coastlines of the island of Rügen—a region whose nature and vastness inspire many of her works.

The exhibition “Water, Waves, Wind, and More” invites visitors to rediscover the beauty and power of nature while reflecting on its protection. The exhibition is curated by the gallery team of the oskar Volunteer Agency and will be on view through August 27, 2026.
