In autumn 2018, the Philharmonie der Solisten was founded in Hamburg – an idea that the orchestra’s director, Vladik Otaryan, had been nurturing for a long time and has now finally brought to fruition.

What sets this ensemble apart from other chamber orchestras is that all its members are trained professional musicians with international concert experience, and they take on solo roles as part of the core line-up.

The name says it all: ‘Philharmonie’ stands for what it’s all about – a love of harmony!

The line-up ranges from a chamber orchestra to a symphony orchestra and expands beyond its usual scope depending on the work.

Musically, the ensemble knows no bounds: its repertoire spans from the Baroque to the modern era and brings together the best of all periods.
