By Ingeborg Bachmann
In honor of the 100th birthday of the poet Ingeborg Bachmann. A monodrama with piano, performed live and accompanied by freely associated water projections.
“Undine Goes” is the mythical water spirit’s reckoning with humanity and patriarchal gender relations.
Attraction and repulsion, longing and repeated disappointment, closeness and distance, admiration and contempt for men as such alternate with one another and, in the intonation of the language, create the pull of a constant wave motion. The flow of water becomes a potential cleansing—a new beginning.
