KOO JEONG A – 'OUSSSEAN', Rafik Greiss – 'The City and the City'
Since the early 1990s, KOO JEONG A (* 1967, South Korea) has been working with a variety of materials and formats, creating works that play with our perceptions and connect us with forces that lie beyond the visible. We are invited to reflect on the extent to which we leave the interpretation or perception of a thing, a place or a moment to our senses. OUSSSEAN is KOO’s first major solo exhibition in Germany and in Berlin, where the artist lived in the 1990s and 2000s.
*The City and the City* is the first institutional solo exhibition by the Egyptian artist Rafik Greiss (b. 1997, IE), as well as the premiere of his newly commissioned film. Greiss works at the intersection of film, photography and sculpture; for the artist, time is not a linear system stretching from the past to the present, but is composed of fragments – of moments that accumulate, dissolve and may reappear unexpectedly as a sensation or an afterimage.
- The guided tours will be held alternately in German and English.
