A Clash of Two Worlds

In the musical highlight “Tarzan,” the audience joins the title character on a breathtaking adventure through the jungle. Spectacular original compositions, plenty of excitement, and a touch of romance make this production an entertaining live experience for the whole family.

With its modern interpretation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ story—which is over a century old—Theater Liberi, known for its family musicals, presents a contemporary staging of this classic.

Imaginative costumes, a colorful set, and atmospheric lighting effects bring the fascinating world of the jungle to life.

Musically, the audience can expect a varied journey through different genres, thrilling them with impressive arrangements and powerful emotions. A superbly trained ensemble blends characters, music, and set design into a unique overall experience.

After a shipwreck off the African coast, a young family is attacked by wild animals. Only their young son survives and is taken in by the female ape Kala, who raises him as her own child. Although Tarzan finds a home among the apes and gains a close friend in the ape girl Tee, even years later, the leader Kerchak repeatedly makes it clear to him that he doesn’t truly belong with them. His search for his place in the world intensifies when Tarzan encounters other humans for the first time. Professor Porter, his inquisitive daughter Jane, and the mysterious Olivia Clayton have traveled to the jungle to explore its secrets. As Tarzan and Jane slowly grow closer, events spiral out of control—and suddenly, both Tarzan and his ape family find themselves in grave danger.

  • The musical lasts two hours, including a 20-minute intermission, and is suitable for audiences ages four and up.
