Yodelling is so much more than just “Hol-la-di-ri-di-a, hol-la-di-ri-di-o”! Now, the Museum of European Cultures and the Berlin branch of the German Alpine Club invite you on a musical journey around the world.

Hattie Rössger and Alexandra Knecht from The Yodeling Birds Berlin will take the audience on a journey through the fascinating and surprisingly diverse world of yodelling. The journey takes in destinations from Texas to Tehran and on to Tyrol. There will be a particular focus on the Tyrolean yodelling tradition – in keeping with the exhibition ‘The Mountains of Tyrol’.

With numerous musical samples, the duo will demonstrate how differently yodelling sounds in various regions of the world. Anyone who wishes to can join in too. After all, yodelling isn’t just fascinating to listen to: singing together is fun and brings people together.

Join us on this special musical journey around the world and discover just how diverse yodelling can be!

Please note: The event will take place at our partner organisation, the German Alpine Club | Berlin Section, Seydlitzstr. 1K, 10557 Berlin.
