Geschwisterliederleben
Flegel, Bimberl, Hanswurst: Maria Anna “Nannerl” Mozart’s nicknames for her brother Wolfgang are meant to be taken with a grain of salt, but they also show that, despite all the love between siblings, things aren’t always rosy—especially when both are equally talented.
Mezzo-soprano Susan Zarrabi, a member of the ensemble at the Komische Oper Berlin, can literally sing a song about this: her brother Sascha is currently engaged at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
Together with pianist Gerold Huber, the two siblings will perform at the Pierre Boulez Saal, exploring famous musical sibling duos caught between deep affection and rivalry.
