Under the baton of Maya Miyata, the audience can look forward to a varied programme exploring the sonic possibilities of the guitar.
The musical journey takes the audience from Wüller’s mysterious soundscape, inspired by Debussy, through the powerful rhythms of Bensa’s *Fanfare et Canon*, to Jäger’s *Sounds of the Rainforest*.
A particular highlight is a medley arranged for guitar orchestra featuring well-known melodies from Studio Ghibli films, including *Howl’s Moving Castle*, *Spirited Away* and *Princess Mononoke*.
The programme is rounded off with further exciting original compositions by orchestra members Rothe, Haase and Karasch.
Since 2017, the ljgo berlin has been offering young guitarists the opportunity to experience the guitar not only as a solo instrument but also as part of an orchestra. Unlike a traditional plucked-string orchestra, the ensemble consists exclusively of guitars and is supplemented by a bass guitar and, occasionally, an octave guitar.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
