The Berlin Symphonic Chamber Orchestra debuts in St. Mary's Church with music for Remembrance Day. The programme includes two baroque masterpieces by Corelli and Pergolesi.
The "Stabat Mater" is said to have been Pergolesi's last composition, completed on his deathbed, much too early. His "Stabat Mater", which made the composer immortal, is devotional and lively.
The Concerto Grosso in C minor by Corelli rounds off the programme with its short, no less emotional motifs.
This concert invites contemplation, with music whose emotionality no one can escape.
