Following a summer tour in 2026 across the country’s most beautiful open-air stages, the iconic Berlin band SILLY will perform its elektroAKUSTIK set for the first time at the legendary Berlin Cathedral in the spring of 2027.
As the event title suggests, the band will present their greatest hits on two exclusive evenings against the magnificent backdrop of Berlin Cathedral, performing primarily with acoustic instruments and featuring arrangements created especially for the occasion. Fans can look forward to a fresh take on SILLY’s biggest hits, never before heard in this form.
The band itself says: “It will be an exciting journey through our musical repertoire, which we’re reviving together with Julia. We promise you special SILLY concerts in an electro-acoustic style and will let our most beautiful songs shine in new splendor.”
Venue
One of the capital’s most impressive landmarks is undoubtedly the majestic Berlin Cathedral, whose striking dome defines the skyline of Spree Island. An absolute must-see for any church enthusiast and anyone who appreciates high-quality events set against a breathtaking backdrop.
The history of Berlin Cathedral can be traced back to the mid-15th century. The current cathedral, with its Baroque-influenced Renaissance architecture, was built between 1894 and 1905, replacing its Neoclassical predecessor. World War II also left its destructive mark here, as the church was reduced to ruins by a liquid incendiary bomb. It would take thirty years before reconstruction began: exterior work was completed in 1983, and interior work in 2002.
In addition to regular Protestant church services, state ceremonies, and important political events, Berlin Cathedral is also actively used as a venue for various events. Thanks to its central location, it is easily accessible by public transportation.
