With the end of flight operations, a unique flora and fauna has developed at Tempelhofer Feld. Amid the former runways, in the heart of the city, endangered animal species thrive, and numerous plant species flourish across the vast meadows.
In addition to the many gardeners working here, a flock of sheep is also being used as natural landscape managers. About 100 Skudde sheep, a breed threatened with extinction, have thus found a new home on the grounds.
Master shepherd Frank Wasem explains the connection between nature conservation and sustainable agriculture and answers your questions about grazing with sheep. The event is suitable for children ages 5 and up.
