Fire, Earth, Life – Garden Bliss on Historic Railroad Grounds
Right in the middle of the B.L.O. Ateliers grounds in Berlin-Lichtenberg – where Deutsche Bahn once maintained locomotives – a vibrant community garden is now taking shape alongside the tracks.

In the garden workshop, Anya Hübschle works with participants to produce charcoal in a pyrolysis oven. Together, they brew herbal tea and learn about effective microorganisms and bokashi.
The soil at the former rail depot is contaminated from industrial use. They learn how raised beds and natural processes can help the soil regenerate. A sensory workshop for everyone to participate in, understand, and marvel at.
This event is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.

The Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival offers you the chance to experience the city in a whole new way. From 12 September to 4 October, around 100 events will bring the visible and invisible heritage of industrialisation to life.
